Project Overview

In the Fall of 2016, InVisionApp came to me with a fun and noteworthy project that they had been cooking up. This was the first project that we worked together on and talk about a great start to a partnership.

The idea behind everything was pretty simple. They wanted to create a series of illustrations that designers (their audience) would instantly recognize, but in costume form for Halloween.

Starting From Scratch

When we first started off on this fun journey, the InVisionApp team came to me with over 20 ideas for costumes. We eventually brought that list down to 10.

  • All-Star Dribbbler
  • Junior Designer
  • Design Sprinter
  • Bad Feedback
  • Unicorn
  • Logo Pond
  • Make it Pop!
  • Zombie Stakeholder
  • Vlogger
  • Party Parrot

The first we started with, once we had the list nailed down, sketches to figure out how we wanted to represent each of the costume ideas. We ended up going through about three different revisions on some of the sketches but here are some of them.

Glimpse of the Process

During the process of creating these fun illustrations, I ended up recording a couple of process videos to share with my friends over at InVisionApp.

Launch Phase

Right around Halloween 2016, InVisionApp launched a fun blog post in which they shared our 10 costume ideas with everyone.
